The cultural association Assodipendenti-Terra mia Napoli has organized a guided tour at the Hermitage of the Camaldoli.

Saturday January 10 2015, the cultural association Assodipendenti-Terra mia Napoli has organized a guided tour at the Hermitage of the Camaldoli.

The Hermitage has been for four centuries residence of the hermit monks who led a solitary life to rediscover a sacred spirituality. Even today this place preserves this aspect mystical that impresses the visitors who can participate in the Eucharistic moments and spiritual recollection with the brigidine nuns who manage the property.

The Hermitage is, however, also the symbol of the late Neapolitan Renaissance architecture and the baroque. The entrance, in fact, has a large arch where there is the coat of arms of the Camaldolese and leads to the church, flanked by the bell tower and a belvedere from which you can admire the breathtaking landscape of the Gulf of Naples.

The viewpoint is divided into two areas, one for monks and the other for visitors, while the church has a single nave and six side chapels. The main altar was built by Fanzago, while the frescoes they were painted by painters such as Luca Giordano and Massimo Stanzione.
The Hermitage also has sixteen monastic cells, with the gardens and gardens taken care of, a well-stocked library, a guesthouse and a refectory.

A visit that promises to be very interesting and, for those who want to participate, the appointment is at 10 in front of the entrance of the Hermitage.
