The Khymeia cultural association, as part of the Di-vagare: the other Christmas' event, offers a guided tour in the area known as the Banchi Nuovi

After Christmas, to dispose of excess calories, we suggest you take a nice walk.

The Khymeia cultural association, as part of the event 'To roam: the other Christmas', proposes a guided tour in the area called the dei New Benches, unusual and unknown tourist destination.
The new Banks are named after benches of the ancient shops in which the carpenters worked.

During the journey, a guide will tell you stories and legends of the places visited through readings. You can admire the works that characterize the area, such as the Church of Santa Maria dell'Aiuto, built by the will of the people and which is a testimony of the Neapolitan baroque, the Palazzo Penne, historical and legendary residence with a late Catalan Gothic architecture and the Palace of the Dukes of Casamassima, which contributed to the end of the '500, at the birth of Largo Banchi Nuovi.

Modern interventions will be shown to improve the degraded area and which have modified its original appearance and some epigraphs, which are important documents of the city's history.

The walk will end in Largo San Giovanni Maggiore where there is the Pappacoda Chapel, whose portal was a decorative work by Antonio Baboccio from Piperno, who was an extraordinary representative of the late Gothic style in Naples.
