At the National Library of Naples free visits for the "Journey to the Restoration Laboratory" to discover the fascinating techniques of restoring ancient documents and books.

From 26 January 2018 the National Library of Naples hosts the "Journey into the Restoration Laboratory". This event organized thanks to the agreement between the Naples Book Fair and the National Library will allow the most curious to discover the art of restoration and techniques that allow the recovery and maintenance of ancient documents and books.

It will be possible to take part in this fascinating journey every fortnight of Friday up to Book fair to be held in May 2018. The restoration laboratory of the National Library of Naples was established in March 1977, and is located in four large rooms on the ground floor of Royal Palace.

The laboratory carries out restoration activities of the volumes and documents, especially valuable ones, belonging to the BNN and provides advice to individuals who possess prestigious materials. There reservation is mandatory and it must be done by sending one mail indicating the number of participants and a telephone number. For school groups, indicate the number of students, number of teachers, a telephone number and the name of the contact person who will accompany the class. The visits will be possible to reach 20 participants.
