The excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum can also be visited in the evening until October 2015
From 11 July to 17 October 2015, and for every Saturday, the Special Superintendence for Pompeii, Herculaneum and Stabia has organized the excavations of Pompei ed Herculaneum, of the particular paths of evening visit, at the cost of only 2 €.
Visitors can admire the exhibition “Kidnapped to death. The casts - Photography“, Set up in the Amphitheater of the archaeological area of Pompeii. Here they will see the casts made and restored recently, including those of Giuseppe Fiorelli, who are a still image of people surprised and overwhelmed by the eruption of Vesuvius. The visits will be staggered for groups of 40 people.
At the Scavi di Ercolano, instead, it will be possible to visit the Padiglione della Barca with a suggestive panoramic view from the top of the magically illuminated city of Herculaneum. Historians can also be observed excavations and fossils of the victims from the doors of the Fornici. The visits will be staggered for groups of 25 people.
If you have never been to these precious archaeological sites, you can not miss these special nocturnal appointments.
We remind you that, for the Herculaneum excavations, special guided tours will be organized until September as part of the The Night of Pliny.
