The City Natura Challenge starts in Procida: in the capital of culture 2022 citizens become real scientists!
In Capital of culture 2022, or a Procida, comes the new edition of the special event entitled City Nature Challenge, promoted by the marine protected area Kingdom of Neptune.
The City Nature Challenge is a special initiative that is organized every year that allows you to document urban biodiversity and which initially began as a challenge between San Francisco and Los Angeles, while today it has become a real collaboration between countries around the world.
So, for four days, from April to 30 3 May 2021, the citizens of the island will turn into real ones scientists participating in the census of biodiversity local. In short, a special occasion for those who love nature and the species that populate it.
City Nature Challenge in Procida
The 2021 edition will involve the island of Procida and with it also well 350 cities from 38 countries. During this event, all citizens are invited to take on the role of the scientist. In fact, you can explore the area and go discovering wild flora and fauna that you will have to immortalize with yours smartphone or digital cameras.
Once the photo, you can upload them to two digital platforms, or iNaturalist and Natusfera, but also on your social networks using the hashtags # cnc2021, #citynaturechallenge, #regnodinettuno and # procida2022.
In no time, from 4 to 9 May, naturalists experts, biologists and scientists from all over the world will identify all the species you photograph and on May 10, on Official site, all the results obtained will be published.
