Eruption of Vesuvius symbolic for the Festa dello Scudetto?

There is a Neapolitan amarcord: in 1987 an attempt was made to make Vesuvius "explode" with the colors of smoke bombs to celebrate the tricolor.

A few days ago, one proposal rather unusual has raised concerns about the volcano Vesuvio: A blue smoke, an “eruption” celebration for the third Napoli championship made with smoke bombs.

Immediately, theVesuvius National Park Authority reported to the Prefecture and the Carabinieri the need to block the entrances, defining the initiative dangerous for public order and the environment.

The first championship of Naples and the fake eruption of Vesuvius

Perhaps not everyone knows that this fictitious eruption of Vesuvio for the purpose of football celebration has already happened in the past. It was the 1987, and Napoli won their first Scudetto on 25 May.

Il Curve B ultra command he organized the festivities by preparing 10.000 smoke bombs tricolors, which had to be lit by an expert pyrotechnician. The goal was to show a tricolor visible from Naples to Sorrento and from Herculaneum to the islands of Ischia, Capri and Procida.

The cost of the operation was fifty millions some old lire. But the results were disappointing: then (as now) haze and partly cloudy sky over the Neapolitan volcano covered the smoke bombs.
