The now historic Social Carnival of Scampia, which started what has become a large network with many events for the Social Carnival in Naples, performs 40 years.
The parade that has always characterized the event every year will also return this year and will start as always from GRIDAS with the participation of schools, associations and related and individual citizens. This year, however, it will be one reduced walk to meet the needs of the pandemic.
The GRIDAS, the "Sleep Awakening Group”Is an important cultural association of Scampia born above all thanks to Felice Pignataro and organizes social, cultural and artistic events for the benefit of the inhabitants of this difficult neighborhood. The Social Carnival is one of the great workhorses.
The theme of the Scampia Carnival
The theme chosen this year is "Arrevuoto - The global revolution”And refers mainly to the difficult situation due to the pandemic to which we must react. There have been many economic and social problems and a new way of teaching and working.
The theme is also dedicated to those who work in peripheral associations contributing to the social redemption of the inhabitants of these areas to build a better world. In addition, this year we also focus on Natura that we are ruining and the importance of approaching Mother Earth differently.
The walk to the Carnival
This year, given the pandemic situation, the march will take the form of a "Walk with spacing and masks”With a shorter route. Departure is at 10:00 from the GRIDAS headquarters in Via Monte Rosa 90 / b, Ina Casa.

- Liberty square;
- via Monte Rosa;
- via Monte S. Gabriele;
- via del Gran Sasso;
- via Monte Rosa;
- via Fratelli Cervi;
- Largo Battaglia.
Instead, the presidio will be at Largo Battaglia from around 11:00.
