At the Teatro San Carlo will be staged the Russian ballet of St. Petersburg with the classic Swan Lake.
From the 17 22 2013 September will be on stage at Teatro San Carlo Naples is the classic ballet par excellence, one of the most famous of the nineteenth century, the first music by the Russian composer Petr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Swan Lake it was made between the 1875 and 1876, and was first performed at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow in the 1877. Of this ballet they have been realized, in the following years, also other versions, of which the most diffused one of the choreographer Marius Petipa e Lev Ivanov, which is the one that can be admired on the stage of the Teatro San Carlo.
La plot of the work is known to all and is based on the love story between Prince Sigfried and Odette, a girl who is transformed into a swan by the magician Rothbart on the shores of a lake.
The spell can only be broken by true love and a promise of marriage made at the point of death ...
The ballet will be brought on stage by the Mariinsky Theater Company, the dance corps of the famous St. Petersburg Theater, one of the most renowned in the history of theater and dance. The music I'm from the San Carlo Theater Orchestra.
