Pina Bausch, Carmina Burana and The Swan Lake on stage at the Teatro San Carlo for the 2013 summer season
Il Teatro San Carlo of Naples will offer all spectators and its aficionados the opportunity to attend fascinating ballet shows during the summer months, before the official opening of the 2013 / 2014 season.
The first show of this summer festival of the Massimo Partenopeo was West Side Story, the famous Broadway musical that for the first time took the stage of the San Carlo from the 22 to the 28 in June, enjoying great success with critics and audiences.

Cafè Muller / The festival of spring (Le sacre du printemps)

A poster for dancers and dance artists from around the world. A show created by one of the choreographers who innovated the theatrical language and the dance transforming them into a story made of steps, sounds and texts. Four years after the death of Pina Bausch il Teatro San Carlo decides to pay homage to it with a work mounted on The Spring Festival by Igor Stravinsky and with Café Müller, his most autobiographical and well known work of the 1978.

Shen Wei / Carmina Burana
Visual ideation and choreography: Shen Wei
Chinese by birth, New Yorker by adoption, Shen Wei he is a dance artist, capable of combining performative and visual languages, giving life to unique shows and blending oriental aesthetic forms with western ones. Awarded artist of the year 2013, for his first time at the San Carlo Theater he will bring an unpublished performance on Carmina Burana.

Swan Lake

Orchestra of the San Carlo Theater / Ballet Company of the Mariinsky Theater in Saint Petersburg
Synonymous with classical ballet Swan Lake will be staged at the Teatro San Carlo with the Ballet Company of the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg and the Orchestra of the Teatro di San Carlo. The famous story set to music by Tchaikovsky and choreographed by Petipa, tells the legendary love story between Prince Sigfried and Odette, the "swan maiden" victim of a spell that only a dying promise of marriage can undo.
