La subway line 1 of Naples will close early in the evening of Thursday 20 October 2022 to allow some scheduled jobs on the line. These are scheduled verification activities to ensure that the new train, which will come into operation shortly, can be 100% safe.
The last evening races of the day will be:
- from Piscinola to Garibaldi at 21.15;
- from Garibaldi to Piscinola at 21.40.
The new metro line 1 train
The first of the new trains that will arrive (there will be 20 in total in the coming months) is modern, technological and very safe.
The wagons will be made up of blue seats that pay homage to the metro of art and Vesuvius and will have a capacity of 1200 passengers. They will be 105 meters long, so double the size of those currently in circulation and will be able to transport four wheelchairs for the disabled.
There will be very advanced technologies and they will certainly be less noisy than current trains. Waiting times will be significantly reduced because the frequency will come to 5 minutes.
