From Monday 14 March 2022 will start it strike by hauliers nationwide, strike due to net rising fuel prices which currently makes this activity too expensive.

The news was given by Transport together who, in his statement, specified that the purpose of this strike is to coordinate demonstrations on state of grave need that this sector is hitting and that no specific claim is being sought. This protest also goes hand in hand with that of the gas station attendants.

Meanwhile, the 19th November There will also be manifestations at the national level of the hauliers themselves.

There is a risk of a new surge in prices

As we know, prices have been rising for several weeks not just fuel, gas and electricity, but also gods products that we buy at supermarket or in local stores, especially wheat-based ones. This is because most of the wheat used comes from Ukraine, which has been hit hard by the war for two weeks.

With the road haulage strike, the prices of all food products in supermarkets and other shops will rise even more so because deliveries will be very slow or may not. Obviously, the record increase in fuel prices has already contributed to the rise in prices as transport has become much more expensive.

In short, from March 14, let's expect a new surge in retail prices.

The goods arriving in Italy travel on trucks

In our country we certainly risk this increase, just think that about the85% of the goods that comes to us is transported by road, then by truck.

The hauliers are not prepared to suffer further losses and an intervention of the Government who is currently being accused of immobility.

The request: cancel the VAT on petrol

What hauliers immediately ask the government for is cancel the VAT on petrol and on diesel and also of reduce excise duties.

Carlo Rienzi, the president of Codacons, specified that since last November there have been large government gains thanks to the taxation on fuels and the increase in the price lists at the pump.
