The program with all the events for the Summer in Naples 2016 including concerts, theatrical performances, cabaret, exhibitions and visits!

Also this year there are many events to spend the summer period and I am part of the long program of Summer in Naples 2016.

The theme of this edition, which falls on the 70th anniversary of the birth of the Republic, is "At the Zenit. Neapolitans by Constitution". In fact, just as Zenith is the highest imaginary point in the sky, so for us it must be the real highest point of the culture to which we must always strive.

The purpose is to celebrate and promote the values ​​enshrined in the Constitution Italian and which are also the backbone of a united Europe and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. With the calendar of appointments this summer you want represent these rights artistically, doing it through our immense cultural heritage.

With important artists, especially Neapolitans, and in equally important locations will take place shows, institutional events,, meetings, visits and much more, also in conjunction with fundamental anniversaries for our Republic.

The locations

The events will take place in palaces, monuments e museums historical and among the most important in the city. From 22 July 2016 until September, hundreds of initiatives will be hosted by the Maschio Angioino, from Convent of San Domenico Maggiore, from Palace of the Arts Naples, from Castel dell'Ovo, from Casina Pompeiana in Villa Comunale or that they will plunge into Piazza del Plebiscitoin  Market Square, but also in monumental parks and churches.

Concerts, Shows & Gigs

In the Cortile del Maschio Angioino there will be a music festival that goes from rock al jazz, From ethnic music al composer, passing through the folk music to that of the author, up to the Neapolitan song and international music. In August, however, there will be a bill of comedy shows and Neapolitan theater. On the evening of August 3 there will be a special event with special guests including Peppe Barra, Sal Da Vinci, Enzo Decaro, Angela Luce, Patrizio Rispo, Daniele Sansone and others.

Naples Tourist Show

In the Convent of San Domenico Maggiore, the first edition of the Napoli Tourist Show, a series of multilingual shows, all with free admission. In the Cloister, however, there will be performances of contemporary theater and concerts.

Show Rock! 6

La exhibition dedicated to the world of rock, which this year reaches its sixth edition, is dedicated to the queen of pop, Madonna. There will be a section entirely focused on the artist with LPs, photos, videos, memorabilia and goodies.

Photographic exhibition by Cartier-Bresson

The program is also included in the summer program photographic exhibition dedicated to the French master Henri Cartier-Bresson with 54 shots that tell the career of one of the greatest photographers of the twentieth century.

Romeo e Giulietta

In the Basilica of San Lorenzo Maggiore a Romeo and Juliet adaptation which provides for the involvement andinteraction with the public since the actors will recite right among the spectators.

Mandolins under the stars

The now well-known event of the Night of San Lorenzo will take place again this year in Piazza Plebiscito on 10 August. A very suggestive appointment with dozens of mandolins that, under the stars, will fill the square with their melodies.

Imago Mundi

It is the sui event saints of Naples which every year emphasizes the religious sentiment in the city, giving space to popular culture on the occasion of the festivals of Piedigrotta, San Gennaro and Sant'Alfonso Maria de 'Liguori which take place in September.

San Gennaro… a fantastic idea!

The September 19 will be celebrated by the patron saint of Naples with the celebrated Feast of San Gennaro. In addition to religious celebrations, there will be in Piazza Mercato concerts and performances by SOUTH 58, Valerio Jovine, dj Franck Carpentieri, the comedians of Made in South and the extraordinary participation of Lello Arena.

Cinema at the Parco del Poggio

In August and September will continue the review of outdoor film at the Parco del Poggio with daily program and many guests among directors and actors.
