Thursday 16 September 2021 Eugenio Bennato will be in free concert in Mercogliano, in the province of Naples, as part of the Mercogliano Estate program.
The live will be held at the square in front of the Montevergine Funicular stopweather permitting. In fact, if there is bad weather, the concert will be postponed to a later date.
It will certainly be a very suggestive evening because the music of Eugenio Bennato, a mix of contaminations from different parts of the world, it is always exciting and engaging.
Eugenio Bennato, an explorer of sounds and rhythms
Together with other big names such as his brother Edoardo, Pino Daniele, James Senese or Tony Esposito, Eugenio Bennato is part of the group of great Neapolitan songwriters.
He was one of the founders of the New Society of Popular Singing and Musicanova with Carlo D'Angiò. At the end of the 90s he also founded the Taranta Power movement to promote the Taranta through music, theater and cinema. He then went on to release albums with this intent and the southern taranta toured the world with him.
In his music there are many contacts with sounds and rhythms of the Mediterranean and his notes lead us to discover distant places such as African countries and their traditions, along a thread that walks against the flattening of globalization.
Mandatory Green Pass
To participate in the concert it is necessary to show the Green pass. It can also download from the App Io or ask at the pharmacy.
