A little more than a month after Christmas, despite the time before these holidays still seem to us, many of us are already starting to look for nice things to do and original ideas for gifts and decorations. Surely, one of the priorities is to entertain the little ones by bringing them to know Santa Claus and make them entertain with his friendly helpers.
To do this, all parents do not miss the opportunity to go to one of the Christmas villages created ad hoc, like the renowned Santa Claus Village of Varcaturo or Santa Claus village at Lago Patria. But do not panic, even the older ones will be able to fully immerse themselves in the Christmas atmosphere of the city, considering that the Municipality of Naples has already announced a rich program of events, fairs and Christmas markets that will take place between the streets of the historic center and beyond.
Among the most coveted destinations, however, surely there are the typical ones markets Christmas that we can find almost at every corner in the city. After listing you the markets you can find in Campania, we provide you with a detailed list of those to visit between Naples and the Province.
Napoli
San Gregorio Armeno
How not to mention the famous Via dei Presepi in the historic center. In San Gregorio Armeno you will find dozens of craft shops that exhibit, outside and inside, beautiful nativity scenes full of hand-made shepherds. Each figurine is treated in the smallest detail and each of them represents a sacred character of the Neapolitan nativity scene: from the Infant Jesus to St. Joseph and Mary, from the Magi to the shepherds, passing through the numerous commoners and figures of the trades. As you well know, however, the master craftsmen, Ferrigno in the first place, also have fun creating "shepherds" depicting the vip of the moment, the famous people of today, but also the artists or the great names of the past.
In San Gregorio Armeno you can find these objects all year round, but at Christmas the street is filled with citizens and tourists!
Piazza Dante
The markets in Piazza Dante generally begin on the day of the Immaculate Conception, December 8, and end on January 6, the day of the Epiphany. It is a craft market where local artisans will exhibit their handmade products on the numerous stands. Here you can find magnificent decorations and splendid decorations and, sometimes, even food products. The purpose of these markets is to promote local crafts.
Via Santa Chiara
Here too, as in Piazza Dante, we can find local craft markets. The location is suggestive because it is a small street adjacent to the beautiful complex of Santa Chiara, shortly after Piazza del Gesù. Along the road, numerous stalls follow one another to show above all handmade products and unique, original and colorful clothing. Generally they take place from the Immaculate Conception to the Epiphany.
Piazza Carità
In front of Piazza Salvo D'Acquisto, also known as Piazza Carità, the typical Christmas markets take place here as well. We can also find very large stands that offer a wide range of original objects, decorations for the home and nice gift ideas. It is also not uncommon to find something typical to eat.
These markets are also open until Epiphany.
Ruoppolo Gardens
The Ruoppolo Gardens, in Vomero, are one of the destinations, especially on Sundays, for mothers who bring their children to spend a morning with games and other children. At Christmas, however, they are transformed into a market for handmade Christmas objects such as earrings and bracelets, decorations to decorate the tree, toys for children, shepherds and typical sweets.
Church of San Lorenzo Maggiore
The stop is a must, especially for those who have never visited the interior of the church which contains some of the most beautiful and particular nativity scenes in the world. It is little known, in fact, yet there are two showcases with hundreds of walnut shells with tiny nativity scenes and biblical scenes inside. They will not be markets, but the visit is certainly not to be missed.
province of Naples
Torre del Greco | from the 13 December 2013 to the 5 January 2014
Torre del Greco will dress up to celebrate Christmas and will do it for 8 intense days. The exact dates of activity of the markets will be 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 December 2013 and 3, 4, 5 January 2014, but the initiative of the municipality is not limited to setting up stands. In fact, the entire dedicated area will also be the location of numerous events and workshops and will be divided into 3 areas. In the first there will be, in fact, the markets, in turn divided into different areas, in which there will also be space for artisan women and the solidarity markets. The vintage area is certainly very particular.

Casandrino | from the 23 November 2013 to the 6 January 2014
In Piazza Umberto I the first Christmas Market of Cassndrino will be organized. The Municipality has organized a pleasant event in which local artisans can exhibit their Christmas products and in which the artists will be able to perform. You can also taste tasty local products and drink some local new wine.
Furthermore, in collaboration with the local associations, the administration will organize entertainment and even animation shows for the little ones.

Epiphany Monday: 8:00 - 14:00.
Saturday program 23 November 2013:
17.00 Hours: Tour of the Anfossi Band through the city streets
18.00 Hours: Holy Mass at Santuario Maria SS. Assunta
18.45 Hours: Opening of the market with:
- Holy Blessing of the 1st Christmas Market
- Turning on the Christmas tree and city Christmas lights
- Market opening with exhibition of street artists and entertainment
The music band of Casandrino Anfossi will entertain the evenings.
The Napoli-Parma match will be shown at 20.45.
There is free parking in the "pinetina" area inside the school complex in via Chiacchio, 50 meters from the markets.
Afragola and Arzano | from the 7 to the December 13 and from the 15 to the 22 December 2013
The municipalities of Afragola and Arzano will host ÈNata..lemozione for the second time, a Christmas event in which several stands will be set up to exhibit local handicraft products and food and wine markets. Furthermore, it will be possible to attend the shows of numerous street artists, music, art and theater events organized by schools and the Italian Red Cross will give its contribution. Boscoreale | from 8 to 23 December 2013
In the Public Park in Via Papa Giovanni XXIII will be set up the Boscoreale Christmas Village with the collaboration between the municipality and the Millemani hobbyist association. It will be an event suitable for both children and adults as food and wine and artisan stands will be set up, but also a playground dedicated to children. In addition, there will be artistic events during which local artists, musical bands, art schools will perform and will make their art available free of charge.

Cercola | 6-7-8 December 2013
In Cercola at Villa Buonanno, in Viale Buonanno, one of the most fascinating markets in the south will be organized. The atmosphere will be very suggestive as in addition to the usual stands with handicrafts, nativity scenes and typical local products with tastings from over 40 exhibitors, gospel concerts, comedians and other events will also be organized.

Casalnuovo di Napoli | 15 December from 10: 00 to 14: 00

Pimonte | from 8 December 2013 to 6 January 2014
The second edition of Bianco Natale will start in the Municipality of Pimonte, with Christmas markets in the “Magica Vallata” and the Living Nativity Scene in the Lavatoio Valley. The markets will be set up with stands that will exhibit local handicrafts and food and wine products that can be tasted. The 1km route following the Living Nativity scene through the streets of the valley will be very suggestive. Pompei
The tradition of Christmas markets is also alive in Pompeii. Every year, in fact, stalls are set up with local artisanal and gastronomic products where you can find numerous gift ideas and Christmas decorations. Also this year there will be more than 50 exhibitors in the exhibition area of the Sanctuary which will lend about 1500 square meters of the first level to this event which takes the name of Christmas at the Fair. It is organized by the Pompei Now association, very active in the area to promote initiatives linked above all to the world of culture.
This year there will also be a stand dedicated to the "Flavors of Christmas": it will offer homemade panettone and pandoro and all the typical sweets of ours like struffoli, mostaccioli and roccocò
Piano di Sorrento | from 8 to 11 December 2013
As usual, in Piano di Sorrento the typical markets will be organized with Christmas objects and the stands will be open only for a few days. Further information will be provided as soon as known.
Afragola
Like last year, in December in Afragola the initiative “Ènata… lemozione” will start and will take place on Viale Sant'Antonio. The dates and events will be available soon, but there will certainly be stands with festive products and musical evenings dedicated to theater and art will be organized.
bacoli
Bacoli's “Christmas Market” is an event that has now reached its third edition. The dates and program are not yet known, but generally we can find stalls with original creations of local craftsmanship, participate in Christmas-themed musical events, such as choirs and attend dance and performances for children. Chiaiano
In Chiaiano will take place the traditional Christmas Fair with Living Nativity. Generally in the square a real Living Nativity will be organized with the representation of typical Neapolitan scenes. Naturally, stands with local, artisan and gastronomic products will be set up, and wine tastings will be offered. As soon as this year's dates and events are known, more information will be provided.
