The new appointment with ours column entirely dedicated to cultural events in Naples suggests a series of cultural events for the whole weekend from 28 to 30 on August 2015!

The proposals for the weekend range from visits to museums of the city a art exhibitions, giving you the opportunity to discover places that are little known to most. This is the case of the Pausilypon Archaeological Park, which can be visited at sunset in a very suggestive atmosphere, and the splendid Gothic Undergrounds of the Certosa di San Martino.

Plus, evening visits to Pompei ed Herculaneum, at the Solfatara and much more for a weekend all dedicated to culture.

Summer sunsets, evening walks at the Pausilypon Park

Pausilypon archaeological-environmental park

The wonderful park of Pausilypon offers visitors the chance to admire it at sunset and appreciate them archaeological and environmental beauties from the Grotta di Seiano and up to the bay of Trentaremi.

Lumina in Castro, a theatrical visit to the Lancellotti Castle

Lancellotti Castle (Lauro)

La theatrical visit to the Castle Lancellotti will tell visitors about the events in the 1799 with the reproduction of thefire of the Castro and the interpretation by actors suitably dressed with vintage costumes. The entertainment show will be accompanied by gastronomic tastings.

Guided visit to the gothic undergrounds of San Martino

The underground route of San Martino will be open to the public also on the weekend of 29 and 30 August. Inside the splendid gothic cathedral it will be possible to admire about 150 works placed chronologically between the Middle Ages and the eighteenth century. There are also some extraordinary afternoon openings of the basements until 25 October at 16.30. For more information consult thespecific article.

Evening visits to Pompeii and Herculaneum

On the initiative of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism every Saturday night, until October 17, i excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum will be open to the public.

When: from 11 July to 17 October 2015, every Saturday

  • excavations of Pompeii, via Villa dei Misteri 2
  • excavations of Herculaneum, course Resin 1

Guided evening tours to the Solfatara

Solfatara

The Solfatara will be open to the public in the evening hours to admire the phenomena of vapor condensation and sound reverberation to which will be added the tasting of anchovies cooked directly on the heat generated by the fumaroles!

When: 29 August 2015
Timetables: 20.00 at the ticket office 20.30 visit start. Duration approximately two hours.

Arnaldo Pomodoro exhibition in Sorrento

The Villa Fiorentino of Sorrento currently hosts the works of the artist Arnaldo Pomodoro, as well as the squares of Sorrento that in these days give rise to the exhibition of seven of the artist's works. It's about big bronze spheres which have been very successful all over the world.

When: until November 22, 2015
Schedule: from 10 to 13 and from 16 to 21. Saturday, Sunday and holidays up to 22.

Al PAN, until 31 2015 August, it will be possible to get in touch with the Latin American universe through a photographic tour entirely dedicated to Cuba, All 'Argentina and to Bolivia.

Capodimonte

There are numerous museums in Naples and Campania that took part in the initiative initiated by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism for the evening opening to museums.

The museums that have joined are:
