Last weekend of January with many events in Naples such as theatrical visits, exhibitions, concerts, circus and an advance of Carnival!

During the last weekend of January, from January 22nd to 24th 2016 , there will be many interesting events in Naples . On the cultural front, there will be three photography exhibitions : one on the places Pino Daniele lived in, one on Dinosaurs, and the other on Naples and its citizens.

Naples360

The first 360° photography exhibition, Naples360 , will take place at the PAN in Naples . This project focuses on Naples and its citizens. Born from the idea of ​​Domenico Maschio, a university student and photographer, the exhibition had already been shared via video on Facebook, receiving numerous views. Naples is seen from a different, 360° perspective, and the exhibition will also feature another photo exhibition by Vincenzo Noletto, showcasing the Rione Sanità.

The Stone Testament

A new event at the Sansevero Chapel in Naples with the Stone Testament , curated by the NarteA Association. This theatrical tour aims to introduce visitors to the Chapel and the Veiled Christ , but also to reveal the true story of Prince Raimondo di Sangro . It will also be possible to visit the Underground Cavea, which, according to the Prince's wishes, was intended to be a burial place for his family. Currently, it houses the Anatomical Machines.

Theatrical visits to the Church of the SS. Severino and Sossio

The Italian Touring Club will lead the public on a discovery of the Church of Saints Severino and Sossio with nighttime tours accompanied by a final aperitif. The monumental complex dates back to the 9th century and also includes a Benedictine monastery. It was originally founded by Benedictine monks who used the structure as a refuge from Saracen invasions.

Napul'è… the places of Pino Daniele

Neapolitan artist Pino Daniele is brought back to life. Photos of the places where the singer-songwriter grew up will be on display at the Auchan in Naples. From the building where he was born to Piazza del Plebiscito , the square where he played his historic concert in 1981, Pino Daniele is once again being honored by his city. Dino Borelli's photos are taken from the book of the same name as the exhibition, written by Carmine Aymone and Michelangelo Iossa.

Pictorial Paradise

The final appointment with the Pictorial Paradise , the evening show-visit organized by the "La Paranza" Cooperative, at the Basilica of Santa Maria della Sanità . Through this dramatized visit, actors will bring all the local characters to life, with the opportunity to visit the Catacombs of San Gaudioso . The Basilica boasts a pictorial heritage dating back to the 1600th century, with works by Giordano and Vaccaro.

Guided visit to the Gothic undergrounds of San Martino

The Certosa di San Martino, with its beautiful Gothic underground chambers, reopens to the public. Designed by architect Tino da Camaino, the Certosa stands on the Vomero hill and boasts Gothic-style buildings that form the very foundation of the complex. Every Saturday and Sunday, the underground chambers, featuring 150 Baroque and medieval works of art, will be open to the public.

Days of the Dinosaur

The Days of the Dinosaur exhibition continues, extended until February 14, 2016. The 30 life-size dinosaurs will still be on display at the Real Albergo dei Poveri to introduce everyone to the history of the Mesozoic period . All specimens will have an information sheet and will be placed in an interactive artificial jungle with the same sounds of that period.

Music

Federimusica

Federimusica is an initiative organized by students at Federico II University and features a series of concerts through May 2016. All the events will take place at the Church of Saints Marcellinus and Festus, featuring concerts of "classical music," as the organizers define it, but also including other types of music, such as Neapolitan classical music. This weekend, there will be a concert featuring works by Beethoven.

Dante's Inferno

The show " Dante's Inferno " returns to the Museum of the Underground in Naples. This weekend, all the cantos and circles of hell narrated by Dante will be brought to life through artists who will move just as the Supreme Poet described them. Circus Lidia Togni

Until February 14, 2016, the Lidia Togni Circus will welcome adults and children alike under its marvelous tent. After two years away from Naples, the Circus has brought forward many new features this year. These include six Parisian dancers and the Circus Cavalry , featuring fine-bred horses and Shetland ponies. White lions, colorful parrots, and performances by illusionists and tightrope walkers will also be present.

Holocaust Memorial Day

On the occasion of Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27, 2016, the City of Naples has organized a week to commemorate the tragedy of the Holocaust . Two events are planned for Friday, January 29, 2016: a photography exhibition with film screenings at the National Library; and a discussion with firsthand accounts from Roma at the Annunziata Monumental Complex.

Ice skating at Vulcano Buono

Until March 2016, the Vulcano Buono Shopping Center will have an ice skating rink in its central square. The rink offers individual lessons, by reservation, for those who are unfamiliar with skating. Open every day of the week, the rink is managed by the Ice Med agency , winner of the Disney Frozen Rink award in 2013/2014.

Carnival of Limatola

The 27th edition of the Limatola Carnival is underway, with three dates this year: January 31, February 7, and 9, 2016. Along with street performances and shows, there will be food and wine stands. Together for Aurora

On Friday, January 29, 2016, the Palapartenope will host the charity show " Insieme per Aurora ," a young girl from Giugliano suffering from brain cancer. The show will raise funds for her treatment and for other children affected by the same disease. The show is organized by the nonprofit organization "Terra dei Cuori" and will feature renowned artists including Monica Sarnelli, Marco Zurzolo, Franco Ricciardi, Tony Cercola, and many others.

The Empire of the Signs

Until February 5, 2016, the event "L'impero dei segni" (The Empire of Signs) will take place at Scugnizzo Liberato.
